Noir Series - IN A LONELY PLACE
May 15
Just
when hotheaded Hollywood screenwriter Dixon Steele (Humphrey Bogart)
begins a romance with his neighbor Laurel (Gloria Grahame), the
police begin to suspect him of murdering a woman he only briefly
knew. Laurel believes in Dixon's innocence, but grows suspicious
as he reveals a hot-temper.
Nicholas Ray's classic, brooding 1950 film noir showcases an uncharacteristically
vulnerable Bogart and delivers a sharp surprise ending that is
one of the most tragic in cinema history.
