SHINE A LIGHT
June 13-17
Martin Scorsese and an ace crew of cinematographers have managed to catch the Rolling Stones on two nights in 2006 when the title of 'World's Greatest Rock Band' was rightfully theirs. The genius of Scorsese's film is that it reveals the Stones' mortality while celebrating all that makes them more than mere mortals.
Maybe you have to be a baby boomer to get into this film, and maybe you don’t. You’ll have to come and see it to decide for yourself. For this reviewer, Marty's love letter to the Stones is much more than alright; in fact it's a gas.
“Martin Scorsese meets the Rolling Stones in ‘Shine a Light.’ The synergy is so brilliant, it's nearly blinding.” Minneapolis Star-Tribune
