THE VISITOR
June 20-24

Walter Vale is sleepwalking through his life. Having lost his passion for teaching and writing, he fills the void by unsuccessfully trying to learn to play classical piano. At first glance Walter isn't a guy you want to spend two hours with. But by the end of the film, you don't want to see him go. Actor Richard Jenkins is like that: He sneaks up on you and steals your heart with light-fingered skill.

This is a small picture that explodes the boundaries of what size really means because sometimes it's the smallest gesture that makes you feel most alive. The Visitor is a delicate, human reminder of why independent films matter.

“Best movie I've seen so far this year? Hands down, it's Tom McCarthy's superb ‘The Visitor,’ which turns Richard Jenkins, one of the best character actors in the business, into a full-fledged star.”  New York Post
