The Lincoln Theatre is a cultural resource for the greater Skagit County area. We serve as a venue for quality cinema, educational programs, live performing artists, and exhibitions of fine art. We also, on occasion, sponsor or co-sponsor events that we believe to be of interest to our community. In all cases, the Lincoln strives to ensure that your theatre experience is enjoyable and entertaining.

Cinematographers, educators, performing artists, fine artists and others present their programs free of censorship or interference from the Lincoln Theatre. We are not arbiters of taste. Neither do we purport to define the values of our community or its individual citizens. A Message From the Executive Director Thom Mayes - May 2011

What a busy time at the Lincoln! We are celebrating 85 years of entertaining Skagit County with a whole host of events, and so far the reception has been very positive. During the spring our stage has featured the likes of Coco Montoya, Taylor Hicks, and a variety of other live acts for the 85th anniversary celebration. What’s more, our anniversary campaign for the Lincoln sign, message center and more is moving along well.

With all that in mind- thank you for supporting your local theatre! Putting on many different events is only successful if we have supporters that come out often, and try out new programs. So as summer begins, make sure to keep in touch with the Lincoln and check out a film, a summer Met opera, or the new Broadway in HD broadcast in June. And don’t miss our first ever ‘Lebowskifest’ on June 16 and 17- it’s sure to be a very lively night of film and fun!

Project: 85 Updated

The $85,000 Campaign to commemorate the history, and ‘light up the Lincoln’ for years to come! As of this printing in late April, we have already raised over $48,000 of our $85,000 goal for the 85th anniversary of the Lincoln. This campaign is centered on the plan to build a neon ‘blade’ sign on the front of the façade. The sign that lighted the Lincoln for decades was removed some time ago, and this historically-based new sign will bring new energy and excitement to the theatre and downtown area. In mid-April the Mount Vernon City Council passed a code amendment that allows this project to move
forward, and we at the theatre thank them for this. This, combined with the help and support of HKP Architects and Meyer Sign Co. has led us to the final planning stages for the blade sign. The proposed message center showing Lincoln programs is also still in the planning stages, as several sites away from the theatre’s façade are being discussed. When complete, these two items alone will truly support the growth of audiences and programming of the theatre into the future. If you’d like to find out more about the effort, or make a gift, visit the website or pick up a brochure at the theatre. Gifts to the campaign can even be split up into monthly or quarterly installments! For more information on a structured gift, please call 360-419-7129.

With your support, we will reach our $85,000 goal by the end of the year!
