Our projectionist, David Austin, and I have been busy installing the satelite equipment needed for broadcasting the Metropolitan Opera season which begins October 9th.
The first step after receiving the hardware was to install the hard drives and receivers in our projection booth.
We then hauled the satelite dishes up the side of the building, 32 cinder blocks up an interior ladder, assembled the dishes on the roof, and weighted down the tracks that the dishes are attached to.
Dave needs to finish the installation with cable run from the dishes to the receiver and all final connections in the projection booth by September 21st when there will be a nationwide test of all broadcasting equipment to insure quality and compatability.
