Skagit Family Learning Center Presents: Junie B. Jones, The Musical

It's Junie B.'s first day of first grade, and a lot of things have changed for her: Junie's friend, Lucille, doesn't want to be her best pal anymore and, on the bus, Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher, Mr. Scary, thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a "Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal," and first grade has never been more exciting.

Side Show Auditions

Tuesday, Apr 17, 6:00 pm
Wednesday, Apr 18, 6:00 pm

Theater Arts Guild is proud to present Side Show, the musical live on stage October 5th – 20th, 2018 at the very fitting location of The Historic Lincoln Theatre (an old vaudeville performance theatre!)

Based on the true story of Siamese twins Violet and Daisy Hilton, who became stars during the Depression, SIDE SHOW is a moving portrait of two women joined at the hip, whose extraordinary bond brings them fame but denies them love. Told almost entirely in song, the show follows their progression from England to America, around the vaudeville circuit, and to Hollywood on the eve of their appearance in the 1932 movie FREAKS. With musical styles ranging from the vaudevillian “Stuck With You” to the sweepingly emotional “Who Will Love Me as I Am,” this gorgeous musical from the composer of DREAMGIRLS will touch your heart and tickle your funny bone.

In the Art Bar: Jo Jones

Jo Jones

After repeated visits to Skagit Valley, Jo Jones felt drawn to the region and decided to locate there to pursue nature, wildlife and landscape photography full time. Skagit Valley felt like coming home. Living in the Skagit Valley, she was a short drive away from the mountains, forests, and coast. The abundance of wildlife is everywhere. She was thrilled the first time she saw deer eating her Azaleas! She sent a picture of the tulip fields to everyone in California with a caption, “Look where I live!” She has a deep love for the Skagit Valley and feels blessed to be living here.

Meet Jo at an Artist Reception in our Art Bar on Saturday, April 7th from 2-5pm.

Into the Woods

A Tony Award®-winning musical classic by Stephen Sondheim & James Lapine

Into the Woods reacquaints us with the most enchanting Brother's Grimm folklore, and characters that we not only adored in our youth, but also continue to pass on to our children today. Joining Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel and, of course, Little Red Riding Hood, is a childless Baker and his Wife. Of course, no fairy story would be complete without a Witch!
