This June and July, the Metropolitan Opera will present encore presentations of six Live in HD performances in hundreds of movie theaters across the United States including the Historic Lincoln Theatre.
The series begins June 13 with Donizetti’s Anna Bolena, with star soprano Anna Netrebko as the doomed Anne Boleyn. Netrebko also stars in Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann (July 11) and Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor (July 18). Rossini’s playful comedy Le Comte Ory (June 20) stars tenor Juan Diego Flórez in the title role, and charismatic baritone Mariusz Kwiecien plays the infamous seducer in Mozart’s Don Giovanni (June 27). The series closes July 25 with Strauss’s bittersweet romance Der Rosenkavalier, starring Renée Fleming in one of her most acclaimed roles.
All screenings will begin at 6:30 p.m. local time.
