About the Artist
I have MS degrees in education and recreation therapy, but art and the outdoors are my passion. I have always enjoyed art and have dabbled in various media over the years: drawing, colored pencil, watercolor, pottery, Sumi-e, and most recently collage.
Come one, come all to this year’s Volunteer Appreciation Night on Wednesday, December 11th from 5:00 - 8:00pm.
It’s the time of year for Lincoln volunteers , staff and board members to get together to celebrate the season and, most importantly, recognize the folks who’ve gone above and beyond the call of duty with their help to support this historic non-profit cinematic and performing arts theatre.
We are a group of artists who meet at the Mount Vernon Senior Center to paint, share art information, and encourage each other in our creative efforts….AND we Do have FUN!!! Join us at the MVSC, 1401 Cleveland St, Wednesdays from 12:30—4:30pm.
The Painted Ladies will donate all proceeds from the paintings of the Lincoln blade sign to the Lincoln Theatre. All other paintings' proceeds go to the artist.
Artist Reception Saturday, October 5th 5:00 - 7:00pm
Deirdre Czoberek grew up in a home where art was just as important as food. Both parents were visual artists and on a constant quest for physical and spiritual beauty. Every surface in the house was subject to beautification and embellishment - cars and refrigerators included. They were a mighty influence indeed.
People interested in learning about volunteering at the Lincoln Theatre are invited to attend a special early evening orientation on Friday, October 11 from 5:30 – 6:30 PM. More than 150 people volunteer over 4500 hours each year to keep the Lincoln open and working well. You’ll find out about the various kinds of work that volunteers do and what training and time commitment it takes to fulfill the responsibilities. Opportunities range from concessions stand worker to poster distribution to helping with membership drives and special events. Volunteers must pass a WSP background check. No RSVP is necessary – simply come to the theatre on October 11 to learn if this is the volunteer experience you’re seeking!
A reception with the artist will be held on Saturday, September 7th from 6:00 - 7:30pm.
Lincoln Theatre Members in good standing (meaning you’re paid up!) are invited to the Membership Meeting on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 6:30 PM. At this meeting you will get a brief view of the last year at the Lincoln, our hopes for the future, and a chance to vote on Officers of the Lincoln Theatre Center Foundation for the current year. To top it off, you’ll get to attend The Way Way Back – a terrific summer film rated PG 13 that we’ll be showing with our new digital projection system – for free!
July - August 2013
The three dimensional paper collages of Ans Schot are on display from July 15th through August 31st in the LINCOLN THEATRE ART BAR. It is a craft that started in the late 17th & early 18th century in Venice and France and in our country during the depression era.
Her collages demonstrate a different perspective and another creative use of a print.
