MOUNT VERNON—Mayor Boudreau has announced that the City of Mount Vernon will be sponsoring a cooling center today at the Lincoln Theatre in downtown Mount Vernon from noon to 7:30pm.
Family-friendly movies will be playing throughout the afternoon and evening, and those seeking shelter will be welcomed with cold water and popsicles. Parking restrictions will be lifted in the downtown area for the day, due to the emergent weather situation.
“We are grateful to the Lincoln Theatre staff, and the City of Mount Vernon volunteers for supporting this important safety option for our community,” Mayor Boudreau said.
